Our Types of Bodywork
Experience how our multi-modality approach to bodywork rejuvenates your body, and re-energizes you. A thorough and professional consultation is performed before each treatment in order to guarantee optimal care for your specific concerns.
The following forms of bodywork can be requested alone, or combined to provide a customized therapeutic expreience for each client:
Swedish Massage
Gentle, flowing massage with the intention of relaxtion. Oils, lotions, and/or creams are used to provide glide for the therapist to make long flowing strokes. Great for people who want to relax, and destress.
Deep Tissue Massage
Just as it sounds, this term is used to describe a deeper pressure during a Swedish Massage and changes the intention a bit. This deeper pressure can help alleviate pain. In every massage, the depth of pressure should be adjusted to the clients liking per their request during treatment. Remember to give your therapist feed back about their level of pressure as often as necessary. We can feel where you are tight, but we can't feel your level of pain, and the last thing we want to do is hurt you, so don't be shy, we want your feedback!
Hot Stone Massage
The use of warmed river rocks provides a deep relaxation during a full body Swedish/Deep tissue massage. The stones warm the muscle tissue and serve as tools for the therapist to provide more pressure. It is advised to add a Hot Stone Upgrade to a 90 Minute Massage to allow the therapist time to complete a thorough routine and address problem areas.
Neuromuscular Therapy
This modality is geared at discovering the existence of trigger points in the muscle tissue (or points of tension) that cause pain in other areas. Have you ever received a massage and thought to yourself, "I didn't even know I was sore there!" Well, one of the most beneficial effects of Neuromusclar Therapy is that it increases the clients awareness of pain patterns in their own body, and helps identify the source of your pain, so we can eliminate it. Left untreated, these minor pains can become chronic issues that may lead to debilitating conditions. But through careful examination and proper application, these issues can be eliminated before they become a real problem.
Active-Isolated Stretching/PNF/MET
Movement therapies where the client is involved in the stretching process, whether they be lifting their limbs in the diresction the therapist is pushing or againt it, these different stretching techniques are all geared toward lengthening tissue.
Myfoascial Release
This manual stretching technique is performed without the client's help, and without the use of oils, lotions or creams. This modality is intended to lengthen tissue as well.
Sports Massage/Orthopedic Massage
Geared toward the athlete, both these "umbrella terms" encompass a variety of modalities aimed at increasing athletic function. Some types of massage (Swedish, "Deep Tissue," Lymphatic Drainage) increase the circulation of blood and lymph which leads to elimination of waste products so you wont be sore, and an increase in the pace of the healing process. Friction techniques can be used to reduce scar tissue and Kinesio tape can be applied to aid the functioning of the musculature. Other types of bodywork included in this group could be the movement therapies (Active-Isolated Stretching/PNF/MET) which increase elasticity in the tissues to help with balance/function and reduce the risk muscular tears.
Hydrotherapy
Our forms of water therapy include moist heat packs, cold packs, and ice cups.
Aromatherapy
We have a large variety of high quality Essential Oils to custom blend during your treatments.
